GARYN EDWARDS – UWCB CARDIFF – 09.12.23 – NATIONAL AUTISTIC SOCIETY

Over the past few months, I’ve been contemplating giving boxing a try, and what better way to do it than with such an incredible event. I chose to raise money for the National Autistic Society, a cause that’s close to my heart since I was diagnosed with Autism at the age of 9. Organizations like this provided crucial support for me growing up, so it feels like the right opportunity to give back to the community that helped me.

I’m thrilled to share that I’ve made significant progress, especially by quitting smoking cold turkey! It’s been a month and a half since I took my last drag of a cigarette. My dieting efforts have also been paying off, and I’m determined to keep pushing towards my end goal.

My commitment to this event has been unwavering. Not only am I attending the scheduled training sessions, but I’m also hitting the pavement for 5K runs every other day to keep my cardio levels up. It’s all very exciting, and I can’t wait for December 9th!

This event is fantastic, not just for the personal challenge it presents, but also for its charitable purpose. Raising as much money as possible for charities in the UK is truly admirable. Plus, being surrounded by people who are all in the same boat, eager to challenge themselves and support a good cause, is incredibly motivating.

If you’re thinking about joining, don’t feel nervous. Take your time to learn, but also give your best in each session. And don’t forget to spread the word about the fundraiser you’ve set up for your chosen charity. Together, we can make a difference!
