Initially, a friend signed both me and him up for the event. I was hesitant at first, but he convinced me. A year ago, weighing 28 stone, I never imagined participating in something like this. Over the past year, I’ve lost 11 stone, bringing my weight down to 16.8 stone.
My chosen charity is The Single Homeless Project. Working in areas with visible homelessness, especially during winter, has made me deeply aware of the struggles faced by the homeless. I wanted to contribute to providing them with shelter, showers, and food, even if it’s just a small help.
My main goal was weight loss, and the boxing training made it easier to achieve and maintain. The event and training were challenging but rewarding. Despite not winning, the support from friends and family was overwhelming. Stepping into the ring was a brave step for me, considering my lack of boxing experience.
For anyone considering participating, I’d say go for it. Even without prior experience or the expectation of winning, the courage it takes to step into the ring is commendable.
The Ultra experience was both exciting and nerve-wracking.
I want to express my gratitude to everyone who supported me during the event, especially my friend Shaun Cole. Shaun played a significant role in my weight loss journey, pushing me to my limits and inspiring me to keep going.
