Jill Nash, salon co-ordinator at Moodyhair, decided she wanted to raise money for Parkinson’s UK after both her parents were diagnosed with the disease. She raised a total of £3,525 and handed over a cheque to the charity this week. She told the Chronicle: “My parents were diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2023 – my dad in July and mum is September.
“It is quite rare to have a married couple suffering from the same disease.
“I signed up for Ultra White Collar Boxing and trained from November to March for the event on March 14 at Doncaster Racecourse.
“The event was massive with 104 competitors stepping into the ring for their chosen charities with a crowd of over 2,000 attending.
