Boxing will become a family affair for a Teesside dad and his sons as they prepare to pack a punch at an upcoming charity event. Wayne Barnes, and sons Callum and Steven, have all signed up for an Ultra White Collar Boxing (UWCB) night at Teesside University in March. UWCB gives participants access to the sport, with free training provided before they put their skills to the test. Contestants raise money through sponsorship for a charity of their choice with Steven, 26, supporting the MFC Foundation.
As a youngster he trained at Phil Thomas School of Boxing in Middlesbrough and also while serving in the Royal Navy for seven years. He and his dad Wayne, 56, from Billingham, and Callum, 32, who lives in Thornaby, have already taken part in UWCB events but this will be the first time the trio box together on the same night.
