Mr Hinde, a senior operations manager in financial crime, was motivated by two personal reasons: to thank Victim Support for helping his wife, Trish, and to show his 10-year-old son, Jacob, the value of courage.

Mr Hinde said: “Victim Support means a lot to our family.

“They were incredible in helping my wife through a very difficult period in her life and throughout the court process.

He said his wife was a huge source of support throughout his training and fundraising.

Mr Hinde said: “From the moment I decided to take part, she was there for me through the training, the fundraising and, of course, the big night itself.

“I couldn’t have done it without her.”
